Here we go! I’m getting my bags packed and things taken care of around the house to hop on a plane and head off to SF tomorrow. (Don’t forget the laptop and cell phone chargers!!) I’ve never been to the Adobe offices so that should be pretty cool too… Yeah, I think I’m getting pumped for this!
I should have about 30+ sets of laminated ActionScript 2.0 to 3.0 Migration Cheat Sheets to hand out before/after the sessions. Be sure to say “Hello” and grab a set before I run out. (Look for the guy with the large’ish beard and glasses.)
See you soon!

Rough Cuts Release: February 2007
Print Book Release: July 2007Book description:
This hands-on introduction to design patterns is for experienced Flash developers ready to tackle sophisticated programming techniques with ActionScript 3.0. The book takes you through the process step by step, explaining how design patterns provide a clear road map for structuring code that actually makes OOP languages easier to use. Although this book is still in progress, you can get going on this technology through our Rough Cuts version, which gives you access to the manuscript as it evolves.
Personal Blog and ActionScript 3.0 Flash Portfolio
My new domain and blog are all set up. Take a minute and check it out. I am working on a full flash portfolio written in ActionScript 3.0 now. I hope to have it finished within the next couple of weeks. I have the code all checked into google code which seems to be pretty awesome so far. An issue tracker, a Wiki, SVN, etc. Here are some photos of the analysis phase I went through. Not formal UML but certainly borrowing and using UML concepts.
Anyway, I’ll keep all non cheatsheet related posts over there from now on.

Please let me know what you think and if you find any problems. I need to get any issues resolved before I send these to the printer. With any luck I should have some of these printed and laminated to give away at Apollo Camp.
I would like to send a super, special thank you to Dolores Joya for helping me with the layout for the new sheets. The layout she helped to create is much better than what I originally had.
